Not looking back. Not looking forward.
What if you don’t need to wrap anything up?
What I’m not doing this time of year: looking back.
Or forward.
I see the posts.
The year-in-review reflections.
The fresh-goals, get-ready-for-2026 energy.
There’s nothing wrong with it.
But it’s not necessary.
You won’t miss a pivotal lesson by skipping the recap.
You’re not ungrateful if you don’t list what you loved.
And you won’t sabotage your future by not setting goals.
I don’t look forward or back.
I look at what’s here.
Not the story of now.
Not what I 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 is here.
Just this.
Yes, you 𝘤𝘢𝘯 reflect or plan while rooted in the present—
but let’s be honest: that rarely happens.
Usually, you drift into the head.
Up and out.
Away from this moment.
And if that’s what happens, that’s what happens.
There’s no right or wrong here.
Only what is.
But if you’re asking yourself whether you should reflect,
whether you should prepare—
the answer is no.
Not because you shouldn’t.
But because it’s already a question.
Which means it’s not what’s moving.
Let it happen if it does.
Don’t force it.
Don’t resist it.
Don’t sweat skipping the close-the-old, open-the-new.
Just notice what moves.
What’s alive—
here.
Love,
Brigitte
